What We Believe
Introduction
Welcome to Redeemer Vietnamese Baptist Church, where we hold firm to our beliefs that shape our ministry and guide our congregation. Our faith is at the very core of who we are, and it is our privilege to share with you what we passionately believe in.
1. The Authority of Scripture
At Redeemer Vietnamese Baptist Church, we believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. It is an authoritative and infallible guide for our faith and practice. We are committed to the study, teaching, and preaching of God's Word, as it is the foundation of our beliefs.
2. The Triune God
Our belief in the Triune God sets the foundation of our worship. We firmly affirm the existence of God as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We worship one God in three persons, each fully God and distinct in their roles and functions.
3. Salvation by Grace
We believe that salvation is a gift of God's grace, offered through faith in Jesus Christ. It is not earned by our works or efforts but is freely given to all who trust in Jesus as their Savior and Lord. This belief in salvation by grace alone is central to our understanding of the Gospel.
4. The Person and Work of Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is the central figure of our faith. We believe in His deity, virgin birth, sinless life, substitutionary death on the cross, and glorious resurrection. It is through His redemptive work that we find forgiveness of sins and eternal life.
5. The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity and serves as our comforter, guide, and empowerer. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the ongoing work of the Spirit in the lives of believers, equipping them with spiritual gifts for service and sanctification.
6. The Church
We believe in the universal Church, the body of Christ, composed of all believers across time and space. We also believe in the local church, where believers gather to worship, study the Word, fellowship, and engage in mission and ministry. The church is a vital expression of our faith and a place for spiritual growth.
7. Baptism and the Lord's Supper
Baptism and the Lord's Supper hold special significance in our faith. We practice believer's baptism by immersion as a public declaration of one's faith in Jesus Christ. The Lord's Supper, or Communion, brings us together as we remember and celebrate the sacrificial death of Jesus and proclaim His coming again.
8. The Great Commission
Redeemer Vietnamese Baptist Church is committed to fulfilling the Great Commission. We strive to make disciples of all nations, sharing the love of Christ and inviting others to experience salvation. We prioritize evangelism, missions, and community outreach as a response to God's love demonstrated through Jesus Christ.
Conclusion
These are the fundamental beliefs that shape our ministry and guide the Redeemer Vietnamese Baptist Church. Through the authority of Scripture and the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, we seek to live out these beliefs in every aspect of our lives, individually and collectively. We invite you to join us in our pursuit of faith, hope, and love.
May God bless you abundantly.
